Good hypocrisy, bad hypocrisy.

I am always late. So much so, that I can’t even deny it! Can’t even play around the bush and say it’s the weather, or the traffic, or the stars! Mercury was retrograde, or some shit. I’m so constantly late I can’t even deny it like a normal person! But it’s not always my fault… I mean, how are you supposed to be at school at 8 sharp when studying sometimes keeps you awake till late in the morning?! Even if you go to sleep before midnight(which is… a struggle!… to say the least) you should be up by 6 or 7 which only leaves us with 6 or 7  hours of sleep, best case scenario… And then, you have all those make-believe scientists telling you should be sleeping for at least 8 hours every night!
Oh is that so Mr. Scientist? And how on earth am I supposed to do that? And them dumb teachers buy into that bullcrap as well!
“Sleep well kids, sleeping is good for you! Feeds your brain, stores memory blah blah blugh!” Such hypocrites! Punishing us for being late yet still pretending we should be getting enough sleep as well. And keep up. And be social. And have hobbies. In what magical time-stopping fairy land are they living anyways?! I want in!

Hypocrisy. Gets into my nerves. Can’t stand it. Some times it’s awfully obvious too! Like in the “night sleep paradox”. (It’ll catch on… “Night Sleep Paradox“. I like it!) They say it’ll be good for you if you slept more yet do anything in their power to prevent you from doing so. What’s the harm in starting school 1 hour later and leaving an hour later?! None. End of discussion!

To me, hypocrisy arises from our need to lie to ourselves. We want to believe we’re better people than we actually are. We [want to] believe we’re good Christians, yet we judge and steal and hate and kill and cheat and envy and…
We ask our kids to behave themselves when we can’t even control our road-rage. We preach about right and wrong and lecture other people and then go ahead and make the same mistakes.

Still, I wonder… is it so bad wanting to believe you’re a better human than you actually are? Would someone who truly realized and acknowledged what a disgusting, hateful, lying, vile person they can be, even get the strength to get out of bed?
Would they take it upon themselves to pursue love and invite another person to their mess? Is maybe introspection… overrated? Are we maybe supposed to overlook our own bads, faults, mistakes, flaws, in order to finally… survive? Survive yourself and survive the race for reproduction even? Is hypocrisy favored by natural selection? Is it an evolutionary trait that Homo s. possesses ?!(Pun intended)
The_Mask_by_dholl
Could there be, then, two kinds of hypocrisy?! A good kind of hypocrisy; the one that helps us survive, socialize, live with ourselves, sort “good” people through the crowd and finally feel good and get up and move on; and a bad kind, one that hurts others, affects them, harms them and messes with their lives? And what is the line between the two? Who can see the line and not cross it?!
Hey you. You who can see it… Where are you? I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Please. Show me the damned line.

I want Jude Nelson’s hair, is that so bad?!

Just don’t ask where I’ve been…! I’ve seen stuff and it took me long to get over them.
This week amongst other things it’s movie week. One movie I’d really like to talk to you about is The Breakfast Club. I don’t know how but I didn’t get to watch it as a kid. Call it bad timing with the TV guide call whatever you want. Anyways, I had to look it up,downlo…rent it and watch it by myself. And boy is it one of those movies that stick with you.

so there I was sitting on my desk….well on a chair close to my desk to be exact, enjoying a cup of coffee and pressing play on what I thought was just an ’80s high school chick flick. So I was pretty excited as you can understand! Before I go off explaining the plot a bit like I usually do let me say that if you didn’t like The Breakfast Club, then you better forget about me…! (That’s where you’re supposed to laugh, nevermind..)

So… a douche-y teacher(Paul Gleason) is called to supervise an 8-hour Saturday detention some of his students got. John Bender (Jude Nelson), Claire (Molly Ringwall), Andrew(Emilio Estevez), Brian( Anthony Michael Hall) and Allison(Ally Sheedy). At first and for the rest of the movie Bender is the rudely honest prick and at first they all don’t get along very well. He seems to be the only one with an array of past parental abuse and mental scarring but that’s far from correct. At this point anything I say will ruin the plot of the movie so all I’m gonna say is that no one dies.

This movie serves your self-righteousness right back in your face. Gets you out of your box and breaks the stereotypes Varsity Blue would set again, 14 years later. No one is perfect and no one has it that much worse than everyone else. It’s more often than usual that people try to pretend they’re the saddest in the world. What an illusion that is. No one cares enough to ask about what’s really bothering us all in order to find out that other people have issues too. We all deal with them in different ways, some are better at hiding them than others, some are strong enough to overcome them and some even go through them in one piece. It’s silly to assume that someone has no problems just by the way they act, stupid to assume that whatever it is it’s not as bad as yours and even more stupid if you let these issues stand between you.

An iconic film that feels like… I’ve always had watched I just didn’t know I did. Again I’m sorry universe I’m make it up to you.

Overall it’s more than a great movie I wish I had already watched. I know this is no pro review, just some of my feelings abut the movie all I could put into words at least…”Who am I..? Who am I..? I am a Walrus.” Gonna watch Easy A now. Bye.

Why I like dogs. And why I am like a dog.

I’d like to take a coffee-break from all the continuous and very consistent fun we’ve all been having to talk about feelings. And people. And people’s feelings.

Throughout my life there are a lot of things I’ve noticed. I’ve noticed that Gloria Estefan can work into any conversation. I’ve noticed that pandas are actually very lazy; don’t have many babies and natural selection-y speaking they don’t deserve to be on this planet any more. I’ve noticed that there are more Disney-obsessed people out there than you’d think. And I’ve also noticed that people are selfish and insecure.

Chapter one: Why people are insecure and selfish. Let me give you a personal example.

I’m what you’d a call a funny guy. Not Ellen-DeGeneres-funny, not even Jennifer-Aniston-funny but that’s what I do. I make people laugh. I’m also a lot like Patrick from the Perks of Being a Wallflower. I don’t like to talk about serious stuff a lot.

Now, what I’ve noticed is that people never take you seriously unless you’re a what I call an “attention whore” when it comes to serious stuff. You know these people and it’s about them I’m gonna talk about. It’s that one person who always says the most cliché things when someone’s sad, stuff that everyone knows and treats the situation like it’s an in-progress gang rape. They put their serious face on and want everyone to do the same. I also call them “drama queens of the sad train” and “unnecessary mood killers”(or “killed mood accentuaters” – it’s a thing).

As you can probably tell, I’m not like that. I don’t like to say fake things that everyone can and are as expected as a “bless you” after a sneeze. I like to just be there and say what the other person needs or has to hear. People are not stupid. They don’t think it’s gonna be OK. They don’t believe they’ll get through it as “time goes by”. So I don’t say that crap.
Now, as I mentioned people never take me seriously. At school I was never elected as anything because people didn’t think I could accomplish anything. People feel the need to warn me when someone’s sad so that I don’t make jokes. What does this all have to do with insecurity?!
As I see it people see a good sense of humor and kindness as weakness. As something unreliable and they feel the need to put you down for having them, but you know that’s not true. You know you could console someone in a way that’s more intimate and true than anyone who feels they need to wear black and start crying with them. It’s just that people want to feel good about themselves. They want to feel that they’re better than you and they want to be the ones getting the sad person’s attention. “You’re the comic relief character that I go to when I want to goof around, now let me handle the serious stuff. There there honey it’s all gonna be OK…. What are YOU still doing here? Don’t you have a joke to tell?! Somewhere else?!”

It’s a rich blend of insecurity mixed with self-gratification and a topping of lack of faith in other people, but that can’t hold a candle to how much people want to feel superior and noticed. Not-in-the-least.

Obviously I’m talking about grief. Never in my life has a sad person sought comfort from me or has entrusted me with anything more than “look at this hello kitty picture and how weirdly it’s dressed”.

I like to treat sadness with laughter, companionship and friendship and assuring people that no matter what crap is going on with them,I’ll always be something stable in their life. If you’re like me and people can’t appreciate you then know this: It’s not your problem. It’s their fault for wanting to have as much drama in their life as humanly possible and there’s not much you can do to show them otherwise, other than your life’s example.

I hope you can understand my train of thought that’s bouncing all over. I will see you when I have something to talk about.

Lessons learned so far: Don’t be fucking lazy.

Hey guys and gals! How are you doing? Are you having a good hair-day? I hope you are! I’ve been doing OK myself…
I wanted to make this amazing(well, good at least) series of posts a few weeks back. Unfortunately in required a lot of time that I simply didn’t have… It’ll happen too, just not as soon as I would have wanted it to…

School’s been going good though! I’ve met some very beautiful and interesting people I’m going out with them in an hour from now..! Hope I’ll have the time to shower. We also do archeo-anthropology at school which is something I’ve always found interesting so I really enjoy it! Did you know the first human-like species appeared 3 million years ago? Stupid as a box of rocks compared to us but still human! I’m also thinking of reading a book on the subject for my English class!

One of the reasons I couldn’t write so much was because I was very absorbed with all the new music I’ve been listening too. And on top f that, I’m infinitely lazy. Go figure… I’m surprised I manage to do anything at all. Hell! I’m surprised I’m even writing this! You know what music genre is amazing?! Rock ‘n’ Roll! Now, don’t go saying “Oh course! Everyone know that!” just yet! You have to really get invested in rock ‘n’ roll to really appreciate it… You can’t just say you like “Viva Las Vegas” an think you know rock ‘n’ roll. I’m not even saying that I do know most rock ‘n’ roll songs! Knowing rock ‘n’ roll means to realize that it’s just white blues with an upbeat style and guitar! Buddy Holly,Chuck Berry, the  Everly Brothers,Roy Orbison are just some of the artists I’ve been listening to lately.
After that I took the Beates up. Chronologicaly. If you’re lucky I can probably tell you the year of release of most of their albums!

Another thing I haven’t been doing is watching movies. It’s what’s got me really worried. I love movies. There’s not enough time in a lifetime to watch all the movies I want to watch! Then why u no watch movies? I don’t know… The reason actually why I can’t write to you the posts I told you about is actually because They have to do with me watching a bunch of movies…! Anyways, I hope I’ll get back to it. I’ve watched 7 seasons of Futurama though! It’s good stuff, thinking about starting it again…!

Songs of the day “Build me up buttercup” (Oh watch the highway sing-a-long video by TJ Smith on youtube) and “Baby now that I’ve found you” both by the Foundations.

P.S. Fun Fact: If we were friends I’d be that one friend who always lip-sings whatever he listens to on his mp3.

Shallow commentary of 2 of the most amazing books ever written…

Good morning readers, today I’d like to talk to you about a couple of books I read recently…

Firstly, “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee(1960). The book is extremely famous and now a classic, also made into a movie,so I’m not even gonna try write a review…! What I really liked about it was its casual narrating, although I found it was being very trivial at times, overemphasizing on seemingly unimportant event and faces only to focus on its “real” plot very late in the book… The trial…

I have done a lot of research on black history,I’ve read a lot about it and seen many movies and documentaries on the matter so I know how things were and what was going on, so the book didn’t shock me (spoiler alert : since it talks about the conviction of a black man for the crime of a white one) on the contrary, it made me feel delighted about where we stand on this matter today…

Another book I recently finished was “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck(1937).  For those of you who are not familiar with it, it’s sad. It’s a sad,sad book that’s gonna make your soul CRY. I might be exaggerating a little. Or maybe not, who’s to say?!

The title refers to the tragic figure of the book,Lennie, who’s this big Hagrid-like dinosaur-man with the brain of a toddler who likes, and I quote, “[…] to pet nice things with my fingers, sof’ things”. Ha ha no. He doesn’t mean that, silly. He means things like rabbits and mice and dead puppies and women’s hair… But he’s so strong, he kills the things he pets… Therefore the title. Although,I would rephrase it to “Of Dead : Mice and Men”

Rabbit
The book is great in depicting an inspiring friendship between two men, the one relying on the other, helping and keeping them company. Ultimately, what I got from this book, except for a hole in my chest that might never go away (haha just kidding…),is basically everything…From bullying,to friendship,to married life,to racism, to death and companionship this book talks about everything, for some there’s but a few mentions for other it’s the whole point of the book. But I wouldn’t like to bore you, just read it.

By the way,did you know that the word “boring” comes from the verb to bore which is the process of opening a whole in the barrel of a gun when making it ?! It’s a very slow job to do by hand and thus the term boring. When something is repetitive and time-consuming.

Done with Muse? Let’s fnd you something else….What about Paperlions and “don’t touch that dial”,lost the war” ? Feeling majestically generous, take Walk the Moon “Fixin” and “Tightpole”,too. You’re welcome!

P.S. I’m not that boring IRL, I swear.
